In this case, songs.

Simple enough you may think, right click, rename..and you're done!

However while doing this I have accidentally pressed 'Ctrl + A' which has caused all 1200ish songs to be called the same thing

Pressing 'Ctrl + Z' only changed about 6 before it wouldn't allow me to go any further.

Is there any way that I can get them to return to how they were previously without renaming them all manually?

Windows media player seems to remember some of the old names because it changes them in it's playlist...however this doesn't effect the files in the folder that they are stored in the slightest

Any ideas?

(If you are going to laugh please do so openly )

System restore doesn't rename, or do anything with, user files.

(Except to move any affected files into a folder on the desktop)

But to the subject : Nice one squeezy!

You cant restore old filenames, as they are overwritten, however this will sort it for you as long as your files have decent ID3 tags (which you say they do)

Miss me?

Just a thought. Would it be possible to right click the music file and then click on the summary tab to see what it comes up with? I presume 90% of your songs are from albums ripped to your computer?
