hi dark, done all what you just said in your post, could it be the norton anti virus i have conflicting with the sound ??

nah i totally doubt that.

have you tried attaching headphones or external speakers and testing whether sound works with them?

after time... they get lose and faulty.. jus a possibility thats whats happend, also if your keybored has a "mute sound" button.. try pressing that, it may have been clicked acidently..

kwan unless you throw or bash your monitor around how exactly are the wires going to become loose?

Internal wires such as the ones on internal speakers are generally not well secured and do have a tendancy to come loose. I have experienced it myself.

i'm not going to go into this as i doubt this is the issue. a lose wire wouldn't cause the computer to go to mute by itself would it? or do you know more than me scaley? if so please leave your suggestions....
