Well I used to have dial up my speed was 56kbps now I have adsl the speed is 1500/256. When I had dial up it happed the same thing it's because some one is trying to ring you or you just set your internet to auto disconnect usually it is set to 20 minutes then it says auto disconnect in 20 seconds ect. but you can change this from not auto disconnecting the maximum is 24 hours this may help also you can have to lines that doesn't bother as well if you have only one line it is bad because when some one try and ring you you get disconnected straight away my best option is to get broadband hope that helps
