my display thing. basically i recently got counter-strike source and it says you need a video card capable of playing directx 7 :S and it says that i do not have the right video card and need to update it. i have got an intergrated one i think...it's a VIA/S3G Kn400/KM400 so is there anyway in which it is possible for me to update it so it's capable of playing directx 7?

Go to Start > Run > type in dxdiag and then press enter.

Click the display tab.

Then write back on here with these details:
-Device name
-DAC Type
-DDI Version

Also are you on a laptop or PC?

DDI Version - 9 (or higher)

It is fairly simple to buy and manually install your own graphics card.

Its not a case of updating your video card, instead a need for upgrading to a more modern component.

I don't know how to take apart my computer though. Hence why I asked the question. Otherwise I would have bought a new graphics card thing and put it in myself. Nemind. XD. I will just wait til I get a laptop.
