yup, not too keen on clickin that for same reason, dont trust referals, have habit of damaging my already damaged pc, dont think it can take much more.

wots the catch? apart from it bein dollers

There has been no catch for me, they are probably getting about $0.05 for every search or something and giving you $0.02 therefore making money.

I noticed a catch, they say you can earn a maximum of $0.80 a day which equals $24.80 in a 31 day month.
I then noticed this:

You will be paid on the 15th of every month for the previous months earnings if your balance reaches $50.00 or more.

Obviously you can't get nowhere near $50 without referring so many people each month.. eventually you're gonna run outta people to refer... which will probably make you get one months payment then give up trying to get more people.

It's also a pryamid sceheme as I noticed:

You can earn more by referring others to Netbux using your unique referral url. If they join using your referral url, you will also get paid $0.02 (2 cents) for every search that they perform as well for up to 40 per day. Therefore, you earn 100% of your referrals' direct earnings!

Hkewell, you were probably referred by someone.. who was referred by someone who was referred by someone, etc... In conclusion, it's just a scam to get as many users as possible.
