That would be the 300 people who were entertained by Romania's 3-1 defeat of Peru at the Estadio Pocitos in Montevideo in 1930.

Didn't the Estonian team not turn up? And as a result, with none of their players on the pitch, the ref blew it up 3 seconds after kickoff. (I think the rematch finished 0-0)

Yeah. Estonia didn't want to travel after the kick-off was brought forward (inadequate floodlights). Scotland wanted a default win but were made to replay, which finished 0-0.

At least the Scotland fans took it in good spirit, as they chanted "There's only 1 team in Tallinn"

Your go

Pierluigi Collina didn't referee any knockout games at the 1998 World Cup.

He only refereed at two group games, which were France v Denmark and Netherlands v Belgium

Correct. It was the following World Cup of course that he refereed the final and one or two other games. Well done, your go

Arrested for theft I do believe? Something I'd known before but got reminded of when researching my 1970 World Cup question. He was arrested (and charged too I think) for stealing jewellery from a jeweller's shop.
