That doesn't matter one bit - all that matters is that the user name is 100% identical.

Loving the new site:

Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

That has to be my favourite bit

The site had about 15 minutes downtime today - planned maintenance. I believe you tried to load it in that time frame and that this has nothing to do with browser versions.

(the site has been tested in IE7 and IE8)

Please leave a message if it continues to be a problem for you.

I'm adding a few fixtures, a few cup rounds etc so people can test inputting scores if they like... Should also give a better idea of what the tables will look like etc

These results are pure test data so feel free to play around with the results as much as you like

An example of the new Cup tree is now available on the new web site:

<snip>

Again these are obviously just test data, the cup itself doesn't start yet at all.

Can I be honest?

I don't really like the tree.

I think you need to have boxes round the team names and scores and lines joining up the boxes to the next stage.

That's the only reason why I don't like it, add that in and it will be alright

ps. Can't we have the dates in the format of DD/MM/YYYY

If that date format is what people prefer - then sure thing, that can be changed easily enough.

I like the idea of the fixture dates being visible every time you view results anyway - should help increase awareness of deadlines

I'll toss it around and you can see if the dates are better that way

I like the tree..... wipeout win

Only thing i dont like with it (may just be because you just put it in quickly) is not having the full names of the clans ie C8 for crazy eights

Since there is limited total space available, the names have to be short versions for the clans with longer names.... Fortunately, most of those clans (like MVP for example) are used to using their acronym anyway.

I'll look into squeezing a letter or two more out of it though, but in the end of the day, the teams with the longest names will have to be shortened anyway...

I would shorten them all then Jan. Don't mix and match.

Also, what happened to Funkypool for warney7!

Well, I thought others might want that link too, so better not discriminate

As for mix and match, I frankly think spelling out the names as much as possible provides the best readability. If all were 2-3 letter acronyms it would be very hard to get any decent overview at all.

What actually might be better though is to reduce the font size a tiny bit more and see if we can fit in a bit longer names.

Can you fit boxes round the names and link the boxes together?

Thought you just made fun of me with that one - since both the boxes and lines are already in place....

What browser version do you use? (Use Help -> About to find the precise version)

If they are in place for the Cup thing, I can't see them.

Using IE8.

What colour are the outline to the boxes?

Yeah, tested in IE8 myself and same result as warney says - You only get the texts, no boxes, no backgrounds, no lines.

Hardly surprising though, the tree is done in javascript - which is notoriously known for having "one behaviour per browser". Annoying to say the least.

No worries though, the resident javascript expect has been informed and it will be solved in due time

Thanks for the feedback too btw - without it, stuff like this might never been noticed or fixed at all.
