After some googling, it seems the javascript canvas drawing used for the cup tree is for some retarded reason not supported in the current release of IE8.

I'll look into what can be done, but the best short term solution if people find it important enough, may actually be to download and use any of the numerous other, free, and far better browsers out there that actually supports standards.

Latest Firefox: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/
Latest Opera: http://www.opera.com/
Latest Safari: http://www.apple.com/safari/download/
Latest Chrome: http://www.google.com/chrome/

With IE8 being the single exception to the list of browsers when it comes to proper javascript support it makes it a little harder to find solutions to this in short term, but people are doing themselves a huge favour if choosing a different browser in any case - for far more important reasons than just the league web site.

I'll of course keep working for a solution to the issue - IE8 is far too commonly used to ignore, but it just might take a bit longer time to fix it.

Might have solved it - IE users, please try this:

Load the page again (using CTRL+F5 to make sure you load a new copy of the page and not just a cached version)

If it still lacks boxes and lines, you should see a little button after the URL (address of the web site) called "Compatibility View". Hit that. Voila.

Bit of irony that they call it support for web pages designed for OLDER browsers when IE is still the single browser not supporting it, but oh well. A solution is a solution lol

Couple of things on the table Jan.

1. Why are we (Nutters) ahead of Cobras when they have a better record. We are level on points, so have you got tie-breaks encoded?

2. Looks weird having frames against before frames for.

It's a nice site, but I'm just nit picking, sorry

Sorry about website downtime as we speak.

Will get it sorted as soon as I get back from work, about 6 o'clock or so.

well i think the new site is rubbish

white - should be pink

banner should be of crazy eights

fixtures should read week 1 _vol_ vs bye, etc etc

needs to get sorted asap

except for that

pretty much perfect

As a penalty for that post I decided to take the site down - permanently.

On a more serious note (that was a JOKE just to be clear):

A few rather too eager road workers with an excavator did something nasty to my fibre cable today, so expecting a few more hours downtime while they work their butts off getting new cables connected

They have said it should be back around 9 tonight, but that's just an estimate, could easily take longer.

The exact same thing happend to me a couple of weeks ago and as they were fitting the new cable in that one broke too! Ended up taking 2 and a half days to fix!

Latest time estimate is 2300...

"Due to more damage than first anticipated..." etc etc... you get the idea...

When it starts slipping it typically keeps going for a while, so don't expect the site back until tomorrow

Connection should now be restored, sorry for the inconvenience.

Then again, road works is such a rare event in this country I ought to be grateful I guess

Captains and VCs can...

Technically no problem to loosen up on that if people want though
