You won, so you'll now be playing dunkyfunk (at Step 2) in the next round of games. If you win, you go up and he goes down. If you lose, you both stay put.

If you win and go up to Step 2, your next game will be against someone at the top (either me or eemad). If you lose and stay at Step 3, you'll be playing someone on Step 4, who will be trying to take your place and force you down into theirs.

GAMES IN FUTURE ROUNDS CAN BE PLAYED EARLY. Just make sure that the game is actually a proper one, i.e. that it will be going ahead

In each fixture, a player from one level is playing someone from a lower level, as seen by the numbers. The exceptions are he bottom two levels, in which both players are already at the higher level, and the loser will drop down a level.

Nope; you're the winning player on Step 5, so you'll play the losing player on Step 4. That player is w_hoolahan, who got relegated to Step 4. Remember, in normal circumstances, a winning player (except the player at the very top) always plays someone above them, and a losing player (except the player at the very bottom) always plays someone below them.
