i wouldn't go down that route personally, we tried and we only have 5 clans with less than 50 active. each team has struggled on the other site this season with 10 players per team (6 players play, 5 in cup).

12 may work but if i had to decrease 14 would be a starting point, not sure if decreasing is the answer. maybe when some other guys step up to be decent captains but the site is too much in decline for me, if it was starting to pick up then would think yes decrease to 14 then 12 (no lower than 12) without a hesitation, some may even say 10 and enter two teams and lower fixtures to 6 v 6.

at the moment personally i would raise the Straight frames by one or two, Keep FBL at 6 frames or even increase to 8. forget Arcade completely (maybe a cup or separate competition?).

WOW. Bit of a turnaround there.

1. I have just finished recruiting 16-17 players and am quite happy with that amount of players within a team.
2. Players that are dropped will not necessarily play for other captains as they were happy where they are.
3. Incorrect. Although there may be players who would make excellent captains, they dont want to do it!!!Its to much hassle and a lot of time and work!
4. There is and always will be a top 2 or 3 sides. The rest are playing for scraps or a bit of fun as we are
5.Rubbish. Doesnt matter if you have 12 or 30 players. If they are busy or not reliable you have probelms getting fixtures played!
6. Change is not what is required in my opinion save maybe an extra couple of frames of straight in FBL. The Java issues are the main factor in the last few months for the drop in numbers and new players. That can only be fixed by the elusive owner of the site!
7. Lmao. How does people leaving help! We will end up with 6 clans of 12 if we are not careful which is less than we have now.

This all smells a little bit of you not being able to fill your team with the 16 fantastic players you promised just a few days ago. You were against dropping the clan size only a few weeks ago because you had a full team. Now its all gone t.ts up you want it reduced.

Maybe FPD will suffer next season as may other teams but you cannot expect teams with 16 players to just start sacking people because you cant enlist players for your own team.

And during my response it was not necessary for me to capitilize any of the words to emphasize a point within a sentance or paragraph. Maybe using the bold or underlining the word could help too

If I release 4 players, I will release my least active, or those that play purely because I ring them/text them/facebook them to come online and play. Those players will almost certainly quit funkypool if I do that. How can that possibly help? However if I lose players, I will recruit up to 16, usually bringing at least 1 new player into clan pool.

Lets keep everything mostly as it is! Any change to clan sizes generally and now is a big no, keep all as it is. Id keep most things to be fair and only change small things like player transfers and win bonuses etc, maybe 1 league format slightly or so but otherwise most was fine last season so why change!

Where has the players that made up the extra two or three clans we had last season gone?!

Banned for cheating or joined clans that only had 10 - 14 players each.

So we don't have any players going without clans then?

I mean I havent done a head count.. but there doesnt seem to be any "regulars" that havent got a clan for next season... so it does indicate a decline in clans.. >>> changes?

That old nonsense (chestnut) again, no one has ever implied anything is 'broken' more trying to modify the leagues and break from the repetitive norm.

The main issue is the fact some are so set in their ways and comfort zones. Heaven forbid anyone even Dare request a change. That's also contributing to killing off the interest within clans and the site as a whole. Nothing is ever changed, updated, spiced up, implemented. It's just the same monotonous, sad, decrepid, boring day in day out, season in, season out regime.

Some people need to get over themselves and just for once put the site ahead of their own selfish need and greed imo.

So guys who hate the other site don't need to read...

its been the same on other site except we do minor changes if needed. sure its not on a good sitting but at least people know the format. for example since the introduction of our league we haven't changed the base format once as it works. in time individual leagues and other minor changes has been added (e.g. Completion Bonus, Decrease Max in Clan etc) but unless something needs to drastically change then we usually don't bother.

we are discussing removing the account age, players can transfer whenever but keeping window as its a nice week vacation for clans, removing quarantine (still applies if you have played in the set) and removing cup ties to clans as drastic measures to make clans easier as we almost didn't have a season but luckily managing with 5 struggling clans


I still think only Straight needs to be altered by a frame, If runner goes to 8 frames then 4 Straight. I think everything else works personally

I would kind of like to see Killer re-introduced into the FBL... or at least some better format of competition than it was in the Killer Cup... the games were great and it was well organised, thanks to punk.

For too long teams and their Captains have dictated or orchestrated how the League and their rules should apply.

I sincerely hope Keith can bring a halt to that and implement his own ideas. If players or Captains alike dislike them then no one is forcing them to play. The site and clans are voluntary.

Every single other captain other than yourself has rallied against major changes. Why should the league runner appease a tiny minority? Especially a minority that posts 30 contradicting ideas up every single season.

Any sporting event or competition gains kudos the older it gets, and the longer it remains in the same format. Whether it be the F.A Cup, The Challenge Cup or the FCL. Never in the past has major changes brought more people into the leagues, and it certainly wouldn't this time.

I can't help but think you're motivated purely by self interest, as the top half of your squad is so much stronger than the bottom half - it would help Phoenix Nights more than any other clan except maybe Pro's if numbers are cut to 12.

I just sent a friend a list of 64 clanless, active players. I know if the rules permitted it, I could form and captain two other clans of 16 from that list. If you cut down clan sizes to 12, we'll have the same amount of clans but less players in the leagues. Anyone that can't see that, or can see it but doesn't see it as a backwards step - needs to give their head a knock!
