Penniless

Anger built up, my heart had sank,
When I checked the balance that was in my bank.
Bare as a new born, no money to spend,
It seems my term here has come to an end.
Questions were asked, details were given,
It seems my access to grants was surely forbidden.
So, whant now am I supposed to do?
I cant ask myself for I dont have a clue.
Phoning home again, so sheepish inside,
The happiness I have here begins to subside.
Money seems the make the whole world go round,
But will it still matter when we sleep in the ground?
I fear it wont, and I wont have a care,
But today whilst Im alive, my account is still bare.

Hurrah, nice one. Inspires me to write a poem about life on the dole.

In a dream I had, I worked in a lab,
And I created somehting that was so very Fab.
It had so many colours that made your heart melt,
And dont get me started on how good it smelt.
It was all by chance, in the blink of an eye,
This miracle creation had fell from the sky.
As soon as I found it, I began to smile,
It made me feel the greatest I have in a while.
Kind to the eye, they began to well up,
And my hand started shaking as I drank from my cup.
I closed the blinds, no-one to see,
It was just this fab thing, the fab thing and me.
For days I ran tests, to find out more,
I worked so hard on, my eyes were so sore.
But then I let it loose, loose on the earth,
And as I watched it grow, I knew what it was worth.
This thing that was Fab, had come from above,
This thing that was Fab, had a name: it was LOVE.

Went into the pub, had a long day
Asked for a beer, from my m8 Ray
Ray is the bartender, hes local
Hes going on the Xfactor, hes got vocal
But anyway i bought my drink, pint of beer
Where a blonde came up to me, slapped my rear
I gave her the eye, i no its wrong
Couldnt help myself, to get her thong
I hav a girl, we just split up
So i thought of her, while i drank from my cup
After 3 hours, after having loads of beer
I noticed that the blonde, she was still here
I tried to walk up to her, ask for her phone
Where suddenly i halusinated, i was alone
To the corner of my eye, i saw a big pea
Broke through the bar, coming after me
Suddenyl i snapped out of it, someone gav me a pound
Then before i knew it, i was to the ground
Looking my last sight, i saw my m8 ray
And that my friends, was my very last day
Im writing this from heaven, a lovely place
Here we have angles, a whole new race
I hav to end it now, im up for duty
But i will neva forget that blondes beauty

I get bak up and open the lock
And out the door, of i flock
Never again, am i goin in there
Not even if its a dare

I took a naughty peek
To see what I did seek
I wasn't disappointed
Just as if I was jointed
I gave the boy a lick
The lick gave him a kick
He opened up his hood
And thought that it was good
And what else did I seek?
The boyo reached his peak
And then the temple shivered
And I knew I'd delivered

When you acquaint yourself with thingy
Hiding down there in his dinghy
Tell him that I said hello
And one day I'll be down below
To introduce myself in person
And recite a little verse in
Language that don't use no voice
But makes use of a lot of silent sibilance and velarized alveolar lateral approximants nonetheless

I write an occasional poem now and then
We've all heard the sword's not as good as the pen
Well my special sword is the world's greatest weapon
In the fight against hatred and acts of oppression
(And it's easily definitely my most prized possession)
The fame of my sword has spread through the Net
The heat and the light of my sword, you can bet,
Will last forever, nothing can dim it
(Except the funkypool forum's 100-posts-a-day limit)
