Just to make all aware that as of next season Jema (pixie_dust) will be reinstated as an FCL league runner. Duties are yet to be decided but will more than likely be the head of the default panel.

I also need to speak to Keith (horse10000) and see where he stands on the league matter as he is a league runner but does nothing in the actual league except for listen to everyones concerns or ideas (Not having a dig at him either as we discussed this ages back and that is what he wanted to do)

There is a chance that a new website will be done but i am 50/50 on that right now as there is nothing wrong with the current one.

where does FBL stand? as im going to change layout on the website for the Golden Cue next season since i was struggling last season with updating i have done a tab where i can enter the numbers for each game so i don't get lost in future.

also done a results tab so people can check themselves which ones i have updated

After a recent discussion with mattywellie about the FBL league and the running of it i gave my services to temporarily take over the FBL as Matty is rather busy at this moment in time, bare in mind that there was never a head runner of the FBL but i did a lot of the work and i will mainly be doing the work i did before + the fixtures while James does the same that he did which is defaults and golden cue. Taking all this into consideration...

At this moment in time a new season website is being created for the FCL which will now play host website to the FBL, meaning that both leagues will be on the same website but have their own sections for all games, rules, tables and so on. I have spoken to Matty as it was my idea to do this so i phoned him up and we spoke about it. Obviously their is FCL things that FBL should not be able to see so their is restrictions going in place on the site to stop any league runner changing something on the wrong league. League runners such as Matty and James only need the google doc page to do what they need to do so no mistakes should be made anyway.

Pixie_dust and myself are working on the website, bringing the rules over to it and what not (some FCL ones are changing and they will be put in bold soon in another post for others to see) The website will be released soon as we think it is ready for all to see.

You would need to speak to Jema about that mate so she could put what you need on to the new website so you would be able to do it.

As stated though we are going to try and restrict access on the site so no one gets confused, but mainly league runners use the google doc pages or a spreadsheet which is linked to a page on the website anyway so no one really has to have or gain access to the actual league website.

Has anybody thought about shortening FCL frames? i had a concept in mind, but not sure what league i should throw it at for idea's..

3 games of 8US 8UK and 9ball with 1 frame of straight.

That is 5 frames less total than current FCL format.

Just a thought.

EDIT: It's an even number, so tie is possible, is this idea a dud?

no FCL should remain as it has been for many seasons, you could shorten the cup so there is an element of luck involved but league should stay the same

The cup should be eliminated if the FCL were to merge into 1 division as all clans will be facing each other anyway making the cup invalid.

why though? if the frames was shorter in cup its something different

Think the idea is the right thing to make it easier for yourself as you are doing the most.

Request all you like mate but me and Jema nearly argued about this for a while as i told her i would still keep the cup apart of the league even if i changed it to one big division.

Yes the format in the cup will also be staying, not interested in any format changing in the FCL to be honest. The final of the cup will be again and two - three week one depending on when FBL is due to finish (hard to determine right now due to not knowing what teams are going to be in league)

How many have signed up? Do you mean as in you dont know who is in league since pre-seasom friendlies havent been played?

That is exactly what i meant mate. That is why i can't go ahead and say if the league is one division or two just yet so it will be decided when i know who is in the league. With the schedule i have i have made enough admin time to sort all of that out + the fixtures.

For all to read, i am in the middle of doing the pre season games but there is odd numbers so one team has to go through on a bye, after going back to last season games and everything the only team i considered for this bye is Team Angry and Snooker Squad.

I have chosen Snooker Squad to go through on this bye taking into consideration that they finished second in division one and where also runners up in the cup last season. That is if Snooker Squad would accept the bye, if they don't then it is offered to Team Angry.

If both teams refuse it then i am at a loss on what to do.

I will not release the fixtures for all to see until i have heard back from both captains on the above situation. My decision to do it this way was because both clans have been around for a while and they are both consistent division one teams and i will never offer a new clan a bye in this situation.

Have a look at the teams and see who you feel is the most active and stable (new clans need games of course so they don't count).

I already did that but i felt bad saying one or the other from the two above, so it took last seasons results and went off that. If Seb refuses it and then i ask Ang and she refuses to then i am stuck on what to do as games will not match up at all. I could give two teams three games but then that is unfair as pre season for the FBL comes out a week after the FCL ones do.

Plus our players hate friendlies lol
