Step I

Download Temp File Cleaner by OldTimer from here: http://amtsc.com/OldTimer/TFC.exe and save it to your desktop.
Close any open windows.
Double-click TFC.exe and select Run when prompted to execute the program. It will close all open programs itself in order to run.
Click the Start button to begin the cleaning process.
Please let the program run uninterruptedly.
Once the cleaning has been done, your computer should automatically reboot. Otherwise, please do so when it does not. this will remove all bulky temp files from your PC Basically spring cleaning. This step can be skipped

Step II

Download SecurityCheck by screen317 from here: http://screen317.spywareinfoforum.org/SecurityCheck.exe
Save it to your desktop.
Double-click SecurityCheck.exe and follow the instructions inside of the black box.
A Notepad document called Checkup.txt should automatically open; keep this safe as I will ask you to post this log at the end of the post.

Step III

Download 'aswMBR.exe' to your desktop from here: http://public.avast.com/~gmerek/aswMBR.exe
Double-click aswMBR.exe to run it. Windows Vista and Windows 7 users should run it as an administrator.
Click the Scan button to start the scan.
Upon the completion of the scan, click Save Log, and save it to your desktop. I will also ask you to post this log at the end of this post.

Step IV

Download HiJackThis from here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/hjt/files/latest/download save it to your desktop then run it. Click 'Do system scan and save log file'. Once this has completed a notepad document should open. I will also be asking you to upload this file at the end of the post.

With all this information I will be able to determine if your PC has any unwanted files on it such as malware, adware, virus' or worse.
Please can you upload all 3 text documents to http://wikisend.com/ then send me a PM with the links. Or, you can send me an email directly which can be found on my 'About Me' page on my profile and from there you can add them as an attachment.

I hope this will help some people out as I've had quite a few messages about people thinking they're infected

If you kept it in your pants there would have been no confusion.

Seriously though, i'm on a mac, and there was a java update this morning. The gameplay is much smoother, more reliable, and things are working that had recently stopped.

Was it just mac update or did Windoze get it too?

I hate when people make this claim. Mac's aren't immune to viruses. They are just as vulnerable to viruses as any other operating system.

Windows, Linux, and Mac are all equally vulnerable. The reason Windows is infected so often is because Windows is the most widely used operating system. Linux and Mac aren't as popular on major servers as Windows. It's all about popularity.

If Mac became the dominate OS then it would be prone to as many viruses as windows

I'd be glad to help. Do you know what operating system you're using? Windows 7? Windows XP? Windows Vista?
If you don't know, you can tell by looking below.

Open a run box by pressing the windows key and R.

Type msinfo32 into that box

That should open a box like this. Could you tell me what it says at point 'A' please?
