Is it? Three Runners (2 affiliated with teams), the old saying 'too many chiefs'.

My opinion I beg to differ.

On the positive note maybe we can get the League itself up and running, really tbh what happens behind the scenes should really remain there. (Runner-ship etc)

Question.

(And I don't mind either way myself!!)

Do you still want FCL friendlies bearing in mind that, in effect there are no really new teams as such, there are few players that haven't played before, there are no rule changes, no change to the format and the fact that FBL pre-seasons will already be taking place which should address any reliability issues if there are any?

If you do still want them, do you want one per clan or the usual two? Or would you rather the first FCL games you play count towards the season?

Everyone is obviously fee to comment but it will have to come down to a consensus decisions by Captains really.

And the sooner the better ideally!!

I dont think they really show reliability, an unreliable team playing a team that always has players on will still get games done whereas in a season where points count the reliable team's captain wouldn't just be subbing in anyone to get games done.
Don't think the risk of defaults would be raised without them really as clan sizes should let everyone cope ok even if players need to be replaced.

I think 1 friendly would be beneficial but maybe only for the new teams more, I'm new to the Captaincy role and my Vices are too, well tbh I have 1 so far the other deactivated. Although the majority of my team aren't new players in the 'Clan World' I still have some who are and I feel they should be given the same respect and opportunity we all have had before.

Pre-season to me is a rehearsal for the real thing, not all players want to participate in them, that's their prerogative, but I vote for 1 or even 2 matches just to get ALL players up to speed.

I say no, never liked the preseason friendlies especially as my team got no defaults in FCL last season.

I like as many games as possible in any context, so I can keep everyone happy. So it's a "yes" from me!

There was never anything wrong with the decisions in the league that i made. I never made a decision if there was loads against it. I was making decisions but also getting some outside help on them with opinions (By out side i mean people who where not playing in the league and some people who dont actually use funkypool as a whole) With three runners the website would be greatly increased with the likes of updates and things which i agree with. During my time i updated everyday if there was something to be done, past few months i changed it to maybe once every four days just due to personal issues. As long as the website is up to date nearly every day there would be no issues

In reality, theres no extra games - the first games would just be competitive league games instead of pre-season friendlies. They would be released at the same time - next weekend probably.

New teams need to prove them self, enough said on the Pre Season i think. I was thinking of stopping them altogether but making the new teams face off to check reliability (maybe an idea you could use lads?) That also gives others more time off that they always want

Scrap pre season friendlies as they don't add anything.

i think one pre-season qualifier is needed

there is alot of new players in clans this season, so to it makes sense to give them a practice run out, so can captains and league runners can also check reliability

just my opinion

That is why I still run the pre-seasons, I know for a fact all the clans operating now would survive however I like to give captains the chance to test their new players hence why I say there are no account age restrictions in the Pre Season games.

I think they are handy to new players needing to get used to the format.

All the teams are in Super League anyway so if you were thinking a player may be unreliable you would play them in the first games of that and see.
Pre-season goes on to long, people get bored

I'm not anti pre-season games. I just don't see why they need to be organised by the League unless the League is trialling something new themselves. If a new clan wants practice then arrange a friendly themselves against another clan. I think most do that anyway.

Anyway so far its the usual polarised response. Trying to keep a note on the views of the Captains posting here mainly.

It isn't just the captains view, there are far more players than captains, you need to consider everyone not just the select few.

The fact you know they will survive, why then bother with pointless friendlies?

The select few (ie the Captains) should cover all clans and reflect/represent the views of their players. The people that post here are not reflective of all clans or players.

Well Keith, if you continue past the highlighted section of your post you will see why.

well for one eagles arnt in super league

this is also a different format. your comment about players getting bored, you dont represent everyone so how could you no that

uprising made a statement more games the better

these are pre-season qualifiers they are here for a reason and always have been for as long as i remember

rather than speak for the majority which you dont, put it to the clan captains for there input, but i think new players must be tested in the format so they understand what to do
