Smile

Many years ago, when we all lived in caves,
Before there were rules about how to behave.
Women would gather, and the men would hunt,
Chasing the beasts that would trundle and grunt.

Language was scarce, emotions hard to explain,
Nobody around would even have their own name!
But there was one expression understood all the while,
When another human would look at you and smile.

Babies would be born with a tear and a cry,
Would be fed, and then meet their own mother's eye.
And suddenly the child would produce a large grin,
While the father stood near and tickled it's chin.

A smile does something that can't be explained,
It can momentarily take away pain.
When your down or upset, just smile to yourself,
A smile is worth more than glamour or wealth.

Title: New Yr

With a new year comes a new start,
Plenty more memories to fill your heart.
With new resolutions and meeting new folks,
Having a laugh and making some jokes.
Let's all hope for a happy new year,
Because 2013 is gone and 2014 is here.

Another poem from Just some girl
Its so so easy give it a whirl
Its just a quicky so to speak
To stop this thread from looking bleak

For some it isn't easy,
The words can be hard to find,
Scrumpling bits of paper,
Just trying can sometimes torture yer mind.

Me.......I write a poem daily,
They're sometimes not 4 bad,
So why not try yer hand at this,
No mattet if it's happy or sad.

So this is for you Paula,
JSG sounds cooler,
I'd say this poem was more diamond than pearl.

Maybe i'm not quite the poet I thought I was

Well done Mav, for giving it a good go,
Once you have done a few, the words just flow,
Aim to do one a week, or maybe even two,
You'll end up loving it, and probably writing a few.

Just thought I'd have a go:

'Time to Show It'

Everyone can be a poet
Doesn't need to rhyme in order to show it.
As long as you write in a way to express
Enjoy writing it loads to digress

No one will chastise nor criticize
So give it a go, you've got nothing to hide,
Open up your hearts and open up your mind

dunno what to write about,
am lacking, my heads a mess,
life can throw some crap at you,
we all know that I guess,
so fry amma leave it up to you,
I'm demoted and feeling down,
unhappy hippesville is struggling,
finding it difficult actin the clown.
