Resetting all stats would be a bit unfair in my opinion, if you want to give everyone a fair chance at the highest rank then it seems like a fairly simple solution.....set the site back to how it was whenever those ranks were achieved.

Back to when people with multiple accounts were banned, back to when hardly anyone ever reset their stats. If I were onua or damee, for example,(there are many others) and I logged on after a few weeks or months away and I saw that my profile had been reset I'd certainly have very little interest in this site anymore.

Getting rid of the micros is a step in the right direction though

What some people mentioned, which was a good idea, was archiving those old stats, so they remain in the sites history, so then the 'new' highest ranking would be there for all to see, as well current highest ranking, and if you wanted to look, at the archived highest rankings.

1000% agree on your post but it's just going to be ignored even though that would bring the game back to life.

Based on that, and with all these ridiculous changes, not ashamed to say this at all but this sites "skill level" is now based upon how many hours you spend on here.

I can see why dame, marc, niall, alexander, lars, _steven_, Anthony, I can go on forever with the list... don't really play anymore because THEY were old players BEFORE all this stuff been rapidly changed and yes I am including straight.

oh where did those players go, the oldies who ad the option to play UK, 9 or 8 u.s? They Left.

why? All these changes

The new ones will stay and argue to keep them.
The old ones just left and there is your answer to the players who are saying "we need to adervertise this game, get your friends to join"


Killed the game which was 1000x better with just the 3 game types and old rank system.

Biggest downfall is the new ranking system + rank tourneys. I'd say if you were to pick one of the options I would say change back to the old ranking system + unranked tourneys, before sorting out the deact, resetting.

I think that everything said in your previous post onua (with the exception of removing the reset and reverting to the "old ranking system") would kill off players that play the game now. Straight and Killer are more popular than 8US and 9US at the moment, so it'd be ok chasing players that left, the question would be are you killing off more players by reverting to the old style site?

I also think it's rather obtuse to say that it's purely changes to the site that has caused people to leave. One thing that seems to get avoided on this site at the moment is a discussion about bannings. It would be my guess that between 60-70% of people that get banned do not return. If Funkypool is simply a time filling game, why after being unable to play for a month or 3 months would you then return. Other reasons for people leaving could include a lack of interest, insufficient time and could even be extended to an increase in different online gaming opportunities.

To blame attempted improvements (albeit, fumbled attempts) for players leaving on a whole seems to be an attempt to hammer a single point across without considering the alternatives.



With regards to the ranking system. I was considering an option where ranks are archived like chapster said, but current ranks would be reset on a rolling 3 or 6 month period creating opportunities for weaker players to be on a level playing field with better players. An achievement could be added for highest "seasonal"rank
