The latest opinion poll from YouGov:

Excluding "Undecided" voters:

Be glad when it's all over, more pressing issues in the World to deal with.

Can see Pros for being independent and Cons against but you never know until taken that risk.

A lot of scare mongering but truth be known, no one really knows. So with that uncertainty I'd hope the answer be No.

The answer surely has to be a no to anyone with an ounce of common sense. However, they're giving the vote to school kids who haven't the foggiest of what all this will mean and do to their country/United Kingdom. They'll all think it's Braveheart time and will think rebelling against the UK will be 'cool' and 'exciting'. So I wouldn't be surprised to see the outcome turn out to be yes but, hopefully it'll be a no.

As Kevin Bridges said, show them Trainspotting, that'll soon make 'em want to forget that they are Scottish

I think most young Scots are voting idealistically, rather than realistically. That's why the polls consistently show a large Yes support from under 24's. I also think a lot on the Yes side have been brainwashed and consistently laugh off any warnings - regardless of whether they come from the UK Government, Banks like RBS & Lloyds TSB, or High Street companies like ASDA, Sainsbury's & John Lewis.

SNP (particularly Nicola Sturgeon) have continuously refuted claims that companies moving their registered headquarters out of Scotland would have any negative effect on Scottish jobs. But she said something completely different back in 2005 when E.On were looking to takeover Scottish Power

Don't think ASDA would be that fussed with them being Walmart USA.

I saw a few things on youtube that was let's say very interesting and here is one.

The Trews on youtube by Russel Brand.

Took down the link as it has colourful language at some points.

Last day of campaigning is now over. In 9 hours Scotland goes to the polls. Opinion Polls are now putting a Yes vote at 49% and a No vote at 51%.

I fear the potential fallout in the aftermath of the result being announced. Especially as the country has been split down the middle in terms of Pro and Anti Independence, and emotions have been running high during the last month or so.

Friends, work colleagues and even family members have fallen out over this debate. No matter what the result on Friday morning, everyone needs to accept it, move on and allow the serious work to begin of bringing our deeply divided nation back together as one.

there will never be an undivided nation this stupid independence vote has killed the Scottish country
as we know it

to many Scottish people are loyal to the crown

this nation I'm sorry to say will reap what they've sown
and wont be allowed to crawl back after the country has done a Greece or Republic of Ireland
after the introduction of the Euro

happy days in the beginning then a Crash like people have never seen before

will they recover only time will tell

good luck

my true thought, is both sides have told a lot of truths to the people, but, has anyone really thought it through

not a chance

One thing you could never accuse a politician of being is truthful

I don't understand why the rest of the UK haven't been given the vote too. Scotland gaining independence doesn't just affect Scotland...

Let's hope it's a no.

If it is a yes, then don't let them use the British Pound, make them use the Euro. As Craig has said, don't let them come crawling back when it all goes Pete Tong for them either.

i think the whole idea is stupid personally, we should still be united with scotland, wales and ireland.

The EU has screwed the whole country up, the sooner we are out of it, and can kick the illegal immigrants out the better.

I understand some have been given visa's ect to stay in the UK that's fine, but 80% of them sponge of the goverment and we have another billion trying to get in from France.

I hope Scotland stay part of the UK and we can focus on the main targeted points.

Will we be just called Kingdom if they vote YES? Nothing United will be left really.

Also if everyone could vote mav then the unanimous decision would probably be YES just as if the Scottish were to vote against the English. The vote should and only be available for those the decision will actually affect.

What happens if the vote is YES and the oil bringing in their wealth runs dry? They'd be screwed surely.

Hope it's a NO too can see it being 52% No. Will be a lot of disgruntled people later today so wouldn't rule out protests or even some rioting too.

ash have you been living in a shed all your life ? the decision will effect everybody up and down the country ... scotland and england alike..... the pound will become substantially weaker... our own pension pot will be strained even more, How you can say the vote is only going to have an effect on scotland is beyond me ... its going to harm us just as much and i dont understand why people are not realising this ... if they do vote yes they can take newcastle and the mackems with them as we dont want them anyway.

80 years ago, the United Kingdom was the biggest power in the world, the phrase 'the empire on which the sun never sets' sums it up quite well. Look at us now, we can't even keep hold of scotland!

What the hell has happened from being the most influential force in the world, to this drivel we are now...

Everything will be fine, because Alex Salmond told us so

But seriously, a Yes vote will have a massive impact on the rest of the UK. Did you know that Scotland is the 2nd largest exporter of goods to England, with the USA being the 1st largest.

2 weeks ago, when YouGov released an opinion poll suggesting that the Yes campaign had taken the lead for the 1st time, there was an instant reaction in the stock markets. Over £3 billion was wiped from the value of companies in the space of a few hours. The value of the Pound dropped to it's lowest point in 10 months against the Dollar. If the markets are so jumpy at an opinion poll (which YouGov themselves say could be inaccurate), how on earth will they react when the Yes vote is officially announced the winner?

Voting is now finished and the process of counting the votes has now started. The votes from all 32 council areas will be counted and announced throughout the night, with the final result announced sometime between 6am - 9am.

hang on, if everyone votes then the decision would be 100% yes but it will be 52% if some people aren't allowed a vote?

How does that work?

Massive decision, either way.
