Mattywellie mentioned at some point a sort of draft system. I think this could be something to look at if we want a league where teams are fairly equal on paper of ability. Obviously teams are established so I'm not saying do away with clans as they are, perhaps introduce it to super league as a trial. Drafts are complicated things in real sports but to simplify it for on here everyone puts their name down who wishes to play and the captains pick first from the list. It would go in order of who came lowest in the league and new teams going last as they don't have a standing. Once the players are all picked we have our teams. People who wish to choose 'pals' over who they think the best player is will simply defeat the purpose but I'd love to see how competitive a league we could create. I Really couldn't see it being that hard to organise in the first instance, you would just need the clan captains to be in a a mutually agreed time if possible. Sunday nights always seem good. You could even start from a point where each team has a captain and a vice, two captains if you wish, to help ensure someone could be on for the draft.

@Craig, the threads have got a lot better since the introduction of the facebook page, where people can vent their thoughts and views without the idea of getting a ban. Which leaves the threads for what they are intended for, discussion/communincation/banter.

On a side note, if the words you noted above 'moron/idiot/retard' were deemed inappropriate, then shouldn't the mods/admin ban the use of those words?

The only issue I can see here is you would need the same people starting the league who finishes it.

It would go in order of which team came lowest but if a team no longer exists it goes to the next team. Any new teams formed would go to the back of the line and perhaps could go in order of there formation to decide who picks in what order.

For instance, say we manage to throw all players currently in teams, in one huge pot. We pick x amount of players for y amount of teams.

Say after 2 weeks, 3 players drop from one team because they don't like the captain, or despise a team mate?

Just trying to think of the problems that normally arise from having drafts without money involved

Those same problems could arise in the normal league to be fair but I would be hoping all players who would want to enter would enter with their eyes open knowing that you may have to play with someone you dislike. If you aren't prepeared to do this before the start perhaps not put your name in the pot. As with any new idea and any new rules there is certainly going to be issues but I for one would love to see it happen on some level and would be the first to say I would play under and with whoever the draft decided.

I agree with James, nothing wrong with implementing new ideas and incorporating them but this one needs be on its own or trialled as a separate entity.

Formats and the leagues are fine as the are, maybe a fee minor tweaks but nothing drastic required.

The super league has always been the league to have amendments and tweaks it makes sense for it to be that league. On top of that the majority of people actually disliked the format of the super league as it stood last year. I think another league would be too much. If the majority of folk don't want to try get a league where it's actually competitive from top to bottom leave it as it is. I'm sure pros and uprising would welcome as little change to a league with regards to levelling it out as they have the majority of the best players between them and if one doesn't win the main leagues I'm damn sure the other will.

I disagree to change it personally but thats because i like the 'attacking' aspect of the Super League.

Your changing who plays for each team, the attacking aspect of the league would remain exactly as it is.

Captains have recruited their players and are content with who they have signed up, now you want to trial a draft where anyone could play, nahhh.

Some players might not want to play for certain Captains and I'm sure some Captains have a list of players they wouldn't even bother about trying to recruit. I sure have a few players I wouldn't touch with a barge pole due to several reasons.

Well don't pick players you don't want then pmsl. Like all other leagues it wouldn't be mandatory.uou could feel free to exclude yourself. Would actually make it run smoother to be honest.

I came up with a possibility of making a league where every team would be equal on paper from top to bottom. if your happy or anyone else is happy scraping for third or fourth in all leagues then so be it.

I mentioned something like the NFL draft the other week, but someone said that if a player didn't wanna play for said team then they'd just deactivate

I'm coming up with solutions as we go here. So each clan currently has 16 people. The minimum a clan would need to play is 5 as it stands. A few people leaving would do little damage and a rule of no bew members after the draft could be implemented so if you do deactivate then your pulling out of the super league all together.

Also to ensure its not the top 5 players playing every game you could have a structure along the lines of ...

Team a v team b

Player a v player b (selected from Rounds 1, 2 and 3 of draft)
Player c v player d (selected from rounds 4, 5 and 6)
Player e v player f ( selected from rounds 7, 8 and 9)
Player g v player h (selected from rounds 10, 11 and 12)
Player I v player J (from the remainder)

If a player from a tier leaves then the rest shuffle up or down and if it seems thereis going to be an advantage because of people leaving then the opposition can pick from the same tiers they must face due to the departures.

So you could play with 5 players so any deactivation can easily be absorbed.

At the moment most players chose where they play due to how good they are. They make that choice because they feel they have a chance of winning something or have freinds in team and feel comfortable playing with them. If you take away the choice then i dont think they will play for long or at all. Not with strangers or poorer players.

I would love a level paying field for all teams but i'm afraid it wont happen.

Playing isn't all about winning for everyone.
Having a challenge and a bit of fun is the reason for most I would imagine otherwise there wouldn't be a league at all.

Your 'dig' in the post isn't really a surprise, yet I feel it may also apply closer to home.

I agree with the point made about affiliations and how certain players wouldn't be happy playing with others.
Seems too complex tbh. I may have missed this if it's been mentioned, but how would subs come into it?

You could sub from three players available for that match. So if you can choose from rounds 7, 8 and 9 you can sub from those same players.

Edit- the 'dig' as you say may be taken as such if you like but it's fairly accurate. If ash wasn't in any league it would run smoother. Less people trying to 'bend the rules'.

As for the constant bickering on threads, I would suggest the players team being punished.

How come EVERY TIME you post you have a personal attack/dig at me? I might be single but your infatuation/obsession is a bit concerning.

Dream on kiddo, I'm not going anywhere and as for us always fighting for 3rd/4th, that's the whole point in trying to build a side able to knock on the doors of 2nd and 1st place. It's called ambition and with a solid team base and quality ever increasing we will soon enough achieve it. People like you with your negativity only drive me on and increase the determination to prove you wrong.

So if you want me gone, I suggest you put up and shut up and allow me to carry on doing what I am and see if boredom sets in. (don't count your chickens though, I love challenges).
