I'm one of the people who actually doesn't mind Vista and I hate 7/8 .. I'm still mourning the loss of ME and XP

windows 8 is total crap, id rather 7 any day of the week
8 was developed for tablets etc
crap on laptops and base

I agree, I'd pick 7 if I had to choose, with work I have no choice but I'm trying to hang on to Vista for as long as possible for my own computer, although a lot of people dislike Vista I've always found it ok.

Posted from our community page:

Please note to all our new funky friends that the newest java and chrome doesn't currently work on this site but we are hoping the owner will fix it at some point

As a substitute please use any Java under Version 8 Update 32
8u31: http://www.itechtics.com/download-java-8-update-31.../
7: http://java.com/en/download/manual_java7.jsp

Also please uninstall Chrome and download Opera, Firefox or Torch

Torch: http://www.torchbrowser.com/
Opera: http://www.opera.com
Firefox: http://www.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/new/

Personal Preference is Java 8u31 and Opera

On a side note Torch is 4 times the size of Opera

If you still want to use Chrome there is a temp fix but will be blocked later in the year (still use the java method above)

Details here: http://blog.chromium.org/.../saying-goodbye-to-our-old...

Also to get Google Chrome working again with Java after it says it is not supported do this.

Open a new window in Google Chrome and in your URL/address bar enter this :

chrome://flags/#enable-npapi

Click the Enable link for the Enable NPAPI configuration option. (1st one)

Click the Relaunch button that now appears at the bottom of the configuration page.

Hope this Helps

My chrome stopped working a day or 5 ago...
Switched over to IE, seems OK.
Lag is almost the same as was on Chrome, though it took a bit of warming up.

Google Chrome does not support Plug Ins and the NPAPI is non existent any more:

Other browsers which do work with java are;

Mozilla Firefox
Opera
Torch - would steer clear for now

- It appears that it's affecting players at a time, achpfsk last night lost his Google, myself today and now punkpoet - so it will STOP on ALL.

Table is smaller on Mozilla yeah, if your too used to Chrome, zooming may be the answer for roughly the same size without zooming on Chrome.

If your like me and zoom on Opera then the table can take a few days to adjust, the same as if your zooming for first time

Firefox is a joke, the cue ball speed is pathetic and as for using F11 why??? Play the game with at least a challenge, or is it too difficult for some without it?

I never use F11 why make the tables ARCADE size? Just ruins the game and having no Google Chrome does too.

Maybe its because i used it for 6 years and i'm used to it, i play poor without it. All about personal preference i mean destiny is one of the best but only plays 22" monitor.

Play the game, yet you left one tonight lol.

There's nothing at all wrong with Firefox, I've always used it and never had any issues with it. I've tried different browsers before but always found Firefox to be the best for me so I guess It's what your used too.

Every browser has its own identity whether it's the pace control, feel, velocity, smoothness. I have used Google since day one, I tried Torch until the popups started doing my head in and malware was rife.

So to use another is like starting all over again.

Only issue i have is lack of zoom (im well into opera zoom) and if you delete java its hard to activate in FF. It is way too fast but good smoothness.

Chrome was too glitchy for me and slow at times

Well i spent 7 years playing with the chrome size ro to randomly start playing with a smaller table would be difficult.
Chrome is better yeah, but firefox is fine for me tbh.
