Good news for Newcastle today, looks like Rafa will be staying and if reports are correct he will have full control of transfers. About time if you ask me from a by stander point. Owners ruin clubs when they start trying to run everything.

Ashley has been abysmal at times. Thank god Rangers have started cutting ties with him, just a shame our canceled contract with Sports Direct wont finish until the seventh year unless Ashley agrees to stop it straight away which he should as he wont sell any Rangers merchandise as it looks like all fans are going to our own megastore and boycotting SD all together.

Ashley never had anything to do with transfer targets
just stumped up £80 million this season for it to be wasted

Wow!!! I didn't see Sevilla winning that match but 2nd half they totally deserve it.

Unlucky Liverpool, guess that consolidates United crap season a bit. I feel sorry for Jurgen Klopp not Liverpool tbh tho.

Couldn't see that coming after how poor Sevilla were in the first half, different team in the second tho and Liverpool were outplayed, Sturridge's goal was class.

You would have thought reaching the Final confirmed Europa League the following season but 8th in Premier League means....nothing now. (oops!)

At least we can offer some European footy - Can't see Gotze or Reus joining a team who cannot offer anything. Better off staying where they are or United will happily accommodate them

On a sad note...shame to see Liverpool fans not only take over Basle (lol) but to start fighting the oppositions fans is just stupid and to see some climbing the fences is just pure daft.

Lol you've posted this like United have had a great season. It's been far worse for you than it has for Liverpool with the money Van gaal has spent and how boring you are to watch since he's been in charge.

I think if Gotze or Reus go anywhere it will be a club that are in the champions league.

Agree - we've had a crap season - 5th when LVG's own target was 3rd - is a failure. He's already alienated the fans for next season after screwing up this one by claiming our expectations are too high lol.

I for one hope & expect to see him released after the FA CUP Final with mutual consent - Mourinho will be appointed the new manager. IF not then the board of Manchester United should and would have denied the reports and rumors by now IMO.

Hopefully we can get back to winning ways, entertaining football, bring in charismatic players and rekindle the passion which United are renown for Worldwide. Some passion and activity from the sidelines won't go amiss also, I'm sick of seeing LVG just sitting on his perch with his Compensation Claims folder, notebook and pen.

We have had a dire season and I expect a lot better from United, a change of manager will be great start.

I think he will be gone, you never usually see a manager go on the pitch after the match and say a speech to the fans unless It's their last game, the fans expectations are much 2 high LOL.

2 cup finals in his first season with players that aren't his is good going. We knew this season was a write off months ago and it just happened that a good run brought in hopes of a higher finish. Tbh, I'm much happier not being in the Europa as we've been poor in the league games around them. Focus on the league, even without CL we'll still bring in some quality players. Just maybe not as many huge players. The biggest change was in the crowd, from doubters and disheartened under Rodgers to believers in Klopp even finishing 8th. We're looking brighter than United at the moment under LVG. Players will be able to see the direction under Klopp and our gems are usually the good players that are underrated by their clubs (just like Gotze at the moment) so I'd never say never (especially when Ash links United to players that would make United the new Galactico's ). Can't see CL quality players going for a Europa league club when you have Arsenal hitting top 4 every season, City also top 4 with Pep incoming. Spurs playing arguably the best style and in the CL.

The final was a shame but a but showed off our weakness. No one to take the game by the scruff. We've not replaced Gerrards captaincy. We should've been far ahead at halftime. A weakness we've had since Suarez left (even before then) is to not kill games off when we should. A couple of decisions didn't fall out way handball wise and then it finished with the ref just giving them all the 50-50s. Kolo Toure was man of the match, good first half, great second half.. He shouldn't have been able to make up the yards on Gameiro for that chance at 35 with his dodgy hamstrings but the determination was immense throughout. Two of him at CB would've stopped their first goal and we could maybe even have won it.

Moreno has to go, by far the biggest liability in defence and I don't want to know how many goals and points he has cost us. Skrtel is past his prime now, Sakho might be in big trouble. Big defensive shake up happening. Lovren has massively improved, Toure is a great backup and Clyne is a solid performer and created a lot in the first half of that final for us.

As soon as that first goal went in we just went back to our old ways, slow complex passing and not real urgency to press as a team. No wonder they got back in it. Even still, it's been a good season with the change. Now to bring in the players who will stop us dropping points, big names or small you would expect Jurgen to do good business

Apparently been reported that Jose is also highly linked too Everton by the way so Man United fans don't get too excited yet.

LVG was aiming for third once they started winning games and going on some good runs, that was not his target for the full season though as far as i am aware, but if it was then that is shocking.

To be totally fair though Zac, if it was your team doing what United has been doing you would be moaning a lot as well, as would anyone. With the ticket prices and season ticket prices so retardedly high and then having to watch complete junk at times (United and some others in certain games) no wonder moaning has been at the tippy top of the list.

If that rumour is true it will be because LVG is on contract and it will probably cost far too much too pay him off.

Premier league is not as rich off as most think.
