Rooney dropped and United are a different team again. I've said it far too long, he needs to be benched more often if you want to get near what you want to achieve in the league.

Anything you can do, we can do better though 4-1? nahh, 5-1!

Lets hope Allardyce slaps Rooney to the bench and we can build our England squad around the new talent

Rooney is still a top player and we cannot neglect that...however, the reason United played and looked so much better without him were due to everyone knowing their roles and positions. When Rooney plays he floats around and very often drops back way too deep encroaching others positions. Paul Pogba was so much more effective with the midfield being solely his with the support behind from Herrera and Carrick when he came on.

IF Rooney were to stay up front and be a target man or play as a Number 10 he'd be more effective but I happen to think Mkhitaryan would be a better 10 than he is. With Rashford, an interested Martial or even Memphis down either flank they'd be awesome. We need to keep Rooney but alternate with him Zlatan. Zlatan is still better so it's very difficult to drop him.

Also think the Captaincy needs to go to a CB or Defensive Midfielder not a Striker. (Tony Adams for Arsenal was one of the best Captains ever...lead by example and was able to see and keep discipline throughout the team)

Yeah, Rooney is accommodated at the expense of the team. Bench him for a few games and you'll probably get a response out of him.

That game showed why Liverpool are more focused on a top 4 finish than a title and that United are nothing more than a top half top. Mourinho sucks all the good out of football. He played for 0-0 and got it, United fans can't be happy with that? I thought you tried to win every game? Only one team tried to win tonight.

As a Liverpool fan you can only see Mourinho's setup as a compliment to the gap between the two sides. Mourinho didn't want an open game because it would've been one sided had he not stifled the game.

Lol, United were the better side (ish) in the 1st half and Liverpool the 2nd. A draw is fair but Liverpool appeared to be the only team trying to win. We looked extremely defensive and it's a very good Draw but Ibrahimovic was non existent, Rashford never run at his opponent tbh.

We will take the draw but we need to play much better and show more attacking prowess in future.

Disappointed still though...3 points should always be the target...regardless of opposition and especially when against the fierce noisy Red side of Merseyside.

I agree United were better in the first half, but they didn't really have a good chance until the second half when Ibra should've scored. Best chance of the first half was Firmino, best of the second was Ibra though Can and Coutinho came close.

A draw was fair, but that's when title winning sides nick a result. United had settled for 0-0 before kick off. Liverpool adapted at half time which is why we came closer to the win in the end but it was a bad match and that was purely down to Jose and his bus.

United had 35% possession tonight, and 2 more points at this stage last season under LVG after a harder set of fixtures. If this was still LVG that would not be considered as good a point as it is under Mourinho. Granted it's not as bad as he did last season but it's still the same old Mourinho. Mistreating experienced played, lambasting players for his own poor performance and questioning referees pre-match and breaking FA rules. Controversial, arrogant and negative football. Who wants that in a manager? Would you really sell your soul as a club for that?

United fans, are you satisfied with how things have gone under Mourinho so far?

Mourinho's track record speaks for itself, he is a proven winner, yes he goes about things in an obtuse manner but he gets the best out of his players. Fellaini and Herrera are both completely new players, Rashford's still continuing his development and we will forever be grateful to LVG for that and winning the FA Cup.

His record shows that he wins the leagues usually in his follow up season, I know we use/d the word 'transition' so much over the past few seasons but this is still that phase. I think it's a fair question Zante but I think to expect a genuine answer this early into his managerial position is too early for a fair and true evaluation is a little naive.

It will be interesting to see what happens in the January market and Summer.....I can see the nucleus of the team already but many fringe players being removed and new players with a creative impact coming in...such as Griezmann, Bailey, Cuedes etc.

Mourinho wanted 4 players and he got the 4 he wanted.....i expected more from some of them but give them time 2nd season....they will come good. Bailly IMO has to be the best of the lot...and he's only young.

Something tells me that Man United would get rid of Mourinho in a heartbeat should they have the chance at getting a Klopp.. Never seen manchester united so terrible, since when did they accept a draw as a good result, away from home or not. Be interesting to see if Mourinho parks the bus at old trafford when Liverpool come to town.

He's won the league 5 times out of 5 for his second full season, but three of those times were as defending champions and he's never lasted much more than 3 seasons. He averages 2 seasons at a club, so how much time can you really give him? The other times he finished 2nd and 3rd, right now I can't see a top 4 finish. That was United lowest ever possession in a prem game since they started recording it and that isn't a positive sign. His record breaking points total seasons have both been 1st seasons.

Yes he is a successful manager, but he doesn't build legacies. He may be more successful in his second seasons, but he has never been unsuccessful in his first season.

Mourinho was brought in for an instant impact and to win the title, not to reshape United into a new era for the club. Yes it's early for a true evaluation of how he will do but I only asked how you feel right now. For example, straight away Klopp was doing a satisfactory job and so far I can't say that I have been unsatisfied by the job he has done. He's had 11-12 proper games now, surely you must have an opinion about how he is doing or the direction he is going?

If you are waiting for January transfers while in October then you can't be satisfied with either the players brought in or the established players? It's still closer to the summer window than the winter one, so why couldn't you have signed those players in the summer?

I feel like I'm going on quite a lot here and I do apologise for that, but he just frustrates me as a manager.

He's had the pre-season and he's had the summer window. If he had joined after that I feel he would warrant more time but if United are serious about their title credentials they have to demand improvement from what they've seen so far. Otherwise they can't consider themselves for the title. Coming up to a quarter of the way through the league, 7th can't be satisfactory with harder games to come and with the cost of your players.

Bailey has been great and looks a good signing, but that's the only one of your signings you can be happy with. Ibra did well but I don't think he by himself is the answer (if you got Griezmann then a partnership with Ibra would be great but him alone isn't enough). Pogba is a good player, but he was supposed to be one to settle in fast since he was at United only a few seasons ago, he has had flashes and is clearly very talented but he's been nowhere near his price tag. That's the sort of money you pay for Ronaldo, Bale, Messi, etc who win games by themselves and he looks like a squad player not a game winner or a title winner. I can't really judge Mkhitaryan with his injuries, but I would question was he signed injured or is he injury prone? Always difficult when a new player isn't playing to know what is going on with them but I can't see him being a bad signing if he gets the game time.

United look short still in my opinion, whether that is one or two players or just they need more time I don't believe in them and you don't really say that of a team who will win the title at any stage.

To judge Liverpool though, that is still a decent point even with a disappointing match. A loss could've really derailed the momentum but I think it may just give us a hunger to right a wrong next time in what should be our toughest test yet against Spurs. A first clean sheet was much overdue though I don't think it says much about our defence as a clean sheet normally would. Nevertheless we have to take it. I'm quite happy if we get the occasional disappointment because that way we don't get carried away and we can build on something and improve. Still aiming for top four but more importantly entertainment.

65% Possession Liverpool
35% Possession Man United

Within that 65% only 2 shots were on target and both saved great by De Gea...IF playing defensive limits Liverpool' attack which they have and I won't lie a very impressive forward line with Mane, Lallana, Coutinho, Firmino etc then that was a well earned point.

Had those stats happened @ Old Trafford then I wouldn't be content with a point and would seriously question the manager. Liverpool were abysmal to be perfectly honest tonight. Can you tell me 1 player from Liverpool who had an outstanding or even decent game? Coutinho was man marked all match (Herrera did great), Firmino (was he even on the pitch?) same with Mane....I expected a lot more from Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp is a great manager and I've always liked him during his time with Dortmund, he's slowly gearing Liverpool to be a force to be reckoned with and it's about time too. I'm content with the point considering the possession statistics alone but I do and would like to see a lot more.

Mourinho is a great TOP manager, I have no doubts United will be firing on all cylinders soon enough and if that's next season and we finish this one in the TOP 4 then guess we'll have to settle for it. I want us to win every match, score an abundance of goals and play entertaining, flowing, easy on the eye football....we do not have the players atm with those qualities and attributes. Ibrahimovic was very isolated tonight also, he needs runners both side.
