Out of curiosity what does it mean when its not? Its nice of you to tell us but other than this what is being done behind the scenes lately? Will this even be replied to?

I know Nick intends to move to Java Webstart, but thats all I know just now. I rarely visit the interwebs these days (the internet is SO 1990's!) so apologies for not having any more details.

Not even going to pretend I know what that means but cool I think lol?

Speaking of Nick im not too hopeful of that happening as he hasn't been on in a year and there have been no updates in god knows how long.

Iv tried to get the tournament structure changed again with no luck. And it really needs to happen with the way the site is to maximise this sites users.

Is there any game changes on the horizon? Or are we actually just waiting for the end now?

ah sure it will. Simple platform, ppl will always like that. saying that, without any drastic changes, it will never get back to its glory days.

I personally think, that Funky was so popular in its time, because it was so much ahead of its time. Now tho, the technology has cought up. Nick had a chance to keep up, but his few years of absence ruined that.

Saying that- by some miracle, this site still gets new members every week, wich is nice to see. The difference here is, that they are just sunday+players, not the hardcore fans like we once were
And i personally understand them, as the pinnacle here is to play against somebodies, who dont even greet you at the beginning of the game. And then they usually loose.

There again, retro-gaming is lifting its head, and this might be a great place where Funky wants to slot right in.

But as always, this all depends on Nick and more so, a great team of Admins and Mods.

I'd probably still be playing somewhat regularly if I could figure out the Java settings. Cant get it to run...
This would be the biggest first step- sort it out so that people who try to join the site can play with just the usual one click.

If you prefer Java 8.31 (which some find prevents the "tournament freeze" bug, you can find the installers here, however this is an old version so may pose security risks so is not recommended by funkysnooker :

32 Bit : http://javadl.sun.com/webapps/download/AutoDL?BundleId=101406

64 Bit : http://javadl.sun.com/webapps/download/AutoDL?BundleId=101408

this works still and works well
