The Stranger pt 1.

Man at the station sat on a seat
Blowing into his hands for heat.
A sip of his coffee and shuffling his feet
I wonder who he is here to meet.

A newspaper open he scowls away
Reading the headlines out only today
His shirt buttoned up and his tie fastened neat
I wonder who he is here to meet.

He wears a long coat like a 70's spy
Studying the faces of all passers by
The phone box he goes in is now obsolete
I wonder who he is here to meet.

Back into the cafe a briefcase in tow
He checks on his watch and then scratches his nose
The crossword he works on is now nearly complete
I wonder who he is here to meet.

Hippes is funny, wouldnt say sad
Hippes is lovely, he aint that bad
Hippes can do whatever wants
Hippes is crackers off his bonce
Hippes, he brings a smile to me
When he skits me an me size 3

People come on here and have a pop
They think it will put us in a strop
In fact it just shows how sad they are
Dreaming up insults from afar
It has the opposite affect on me
So why don't you do one, and leave me be!

To be honest Miss Bug,
Is a rarity it seems,
Those numpties talkin poop,
They have many weird dreams,
More interested in others,
Whom they say have no life,
Little better to do,
Than try and cause strife!

The Stranger pt. 2

Who is this stranger that lingers close by?
Present in the morning and all through the night.
That dwells in an expensive hand held device,
The screen flashes up - we look once, and then twice.

Who is this stranger that knows where we've been?
The sites that we've visited and pictures we've seen.
That controls our attention, wherever we are,
That collects lots of cookies in a virtual jar.

Who is this stranger that suggests what to view?
This stranger who seems to offer up passwords too.
Is this stranger a person that I cannot see?
Do you know this stranger? Can you tell me?

Is this stranger someone powerful? Are they in control?
If so I do wonder, just what is their goal?
Am I just a lemming who walks where I'm told,
Is this the plan for all of us until we grow old?

I have an upset tummy
I run to the loo
I still straight down
And do a runny poo!

My tummy really hurts
And it smells pretty dire
I didn't think when I woke today
I'd have a ring of fire!!

...and there my friend,
A story told,
Too much information,
Regarding your hole,
In future please,
Do take the time,
Less of the poo,
In your poetic lines.

Close your eyes and take a breath
Search your soul for something left
Listen to the music far away

Think of things that give you joy
Reminisce back to when your were a girl or boy
The summer sun beating down on your face
Take yourself back to a happy place...

Remember this is a place of your own,
That you can still visit even though you are grown
Whatever is happening within your own life
Whether its a struggle or filled up with strife...

Life is too short to feel down all the time
You're only here once (well, that's a belief of mine)
However your day is going, let's not live in denial
So take a breath and relax, then remember to smile.

Older

Out of the window into the crisp blue skies,
The clouds are reflected in the tear-crest eyes
A blink and a shudder, a tear rolls down,
But for the pipes creaking there is barely a sound.

A million memories flash back from the past,
From childhood, parenthood, until at last
His most recent past time, his dear love gone,
He puts on the record and listens to 'their' song.

A receding hairline, much less weight than in his youth
The dust-covered photographs provide all the proof
That as the nights grow darker and the days grow colder
Time slips away and every day he grows older.

Everybody is different in,
This world in which we live,
Accepting others can be difficult,
The chance is yours to give.

Paula who? I hear you ask,
Tables turned, she'd be aghast,
But here I am, so nerr nerr nerrrr,
Coz not sausage, do they care.
