Im on Virgin Media, but they don't offer a wireless connection.

Just wondering if anyone knew if it was possible to have seperate connections? For example, one modem downstairs and another upstairs?

Easiest way is to buy yourself a wireless router. Make sure it's cable compatible. It will work fine.
You can buy these, they are around £50 or so (a one off cost) at pc world.

Below is a link to the cable routers page on the pc world website.

Hope this helps

A wireless router for a cable internet connection can be purchased for as little as £30, also Virgin is now offering wireless routers to new customers so it may be worth your while giving Mr Branson a ring and see if you can a get a free one out of them
