It's a little bit more complicated than that.

It is a fix to stop people PMing you on the black. Cut from instructions:

+ What does the option "ignore PMs while competing" do?

We have had complaints from people that while playing a competitive game (eg a ranked game or a tournament game) certain unscrupulous players will send private messages (PMs) at certain times in an effort to unfairly distract the user.

If you select the option "ignore PMs while competing" this will automatically prevent you receiving PMs from these users while in a competitive game. However, you will still receive messages from people on your friend list and people that you are already chatting to through private messages, and also will receive new PMs when it is not your turn.

Actually I'm unsure about this part and also will receive new PMs when it is not your turn.

Maybe it would be better without that.

i think you should keep that feature...you can receive them when it is not your turn...that way you dont have to turn the function on and off when competing..

as long as its not your turn, who cares!!!

ah i see whats happened, someone has PMed me when its not my turn, and then PMed again when it is my turn, but as i am technically still chatting to them, it continues to send me the PM. also the first time the player was on my friendlist. i think maybe friend list or otherwise you should be able to ignore PMs
