Look on your desktop for a text file with a name starting "hs_err"

This will be a java error log.

Dont worry about whats in it, but if its there a java reinstall is needed.

go to control panel>

add remove programs>

Remove all the java versions you see (there may be more than one).

Clear browser histories including downloaded program files.

Reboot (even if you're not told to)

Then vist http://www.java.com for a new, clean, install

I have done this numerous times after being told to by a friend but it still closes itself. Lost over 20 games this way but it seems to mainly happen in tourny's. Has this got anything to do with it?

My game window and page keeps closing too.
I'm sure ive seen this hs error before BUT..
How exactly do i find 'hs_error' on the desktop? How can you get to the desktop? And, Spinner, i removed the java update 3 from my programs and tried to install java update 5 (the latest one) and all i got was 'cannot finish download'.

Help? ta.

Ya desktop is the homepage on your computer (what loads up when u turn on before u open any programs).
on mine it comes up as hs_err_pid_3 (or any number really starting from 1) it just goes underneath the last program you installed a shortcut to on ya desktop

hope that helps- no idea about the java question you asked tho

I dunno if it has anything to do with it, but i altered 'start up programs' not really knowing what i was doing with that msconfig thing that i read about from a thread on here. I stopped a fair few loading up when the comp first runs, could this have something to do with it?

Sorry for the lack of technical words, i really am a dunce when it comes to things like this.

:)

Was about 3-4months ago when i did it.
