Guess The Smiley Sequence

I pick *FIVE* smiley's and put them is a certain order and you try guess it..
All 5 smiley's will be different
You get it your go

Think you need to play this like the old mastermind game (if anyone knows that)
You mark it one way if a smiley is in the right place and another way if the smiley is in it but in the wrong place
ie for _____mnm_____'s try it might be x - - x o
where the first and fourth smileys are right (x) whilst the fifth one is in it but in a different place (o) and the second and third ones arent in it at all.
i dont know how many different combinations there are but there are millions i would think and this could take a while

Just one Q from me..have we got to use 5 smileys or can we how many we want?.. and do they have to be different smileys or can we use the same one twice/three times etc?

i think use 5 (thats the max you can anyway isnt it) - but they dont all have to be different
