The Ashes takes place in Australia this year, with the first test starting on 25th November in Brisbane and the last test in Sydney ending on 7th January.

The England team has been announced already:

Andrew Strauss (c)
Alastair Cook (vc)
James Anderson
Ian Bell
Stuart Broad
Tim Bresnan
Paul Collingwood
Steven Davies (wk)
Steven Finn
Eoin Morgan
Monty Panesar
Kevin Pietersen
Matt Prior (wk)
Graeme Swann
Chris Tremlett
Jonathan Trott

The Australian team has yet to be announced. Last time down under, we lost 5-0, hopefully some payback this time, at least win a test match anyway.

Think the players to look out for for us are probably Morgan, Swann and probably Broad.

A week later:

Brisbane result:
England: 260 (Bell 76, Cook 67; Siddle 6-54)
Australia: 481 (Hussey 195, Haddin 136; Finn 6-125)
England: 517/1d (Cook 235*, Trott 135*, Strauss 110)
Australia: 107/1 (Ponting 51*)

It was a good result after the poor first few days, only scoring 260, then letting Australia off the hook when they were 143/5 in their first innnings.

Second test starts in a few hours in Adelaide, let's hope we can start better than win this one

looking good for England - if they can get to around 50/60 runs before losing their first wicket I think they will be on for a good first innings score - however the aussies always seem to pull something out of the bag when their backs are against the wall

should be another fantastic test match

You're on the internet

Australia all out for 245 after being 2/3, England closed on 1/0

Adelaide:
Australia: 245 (Hussey 93, Haddin 56; Anderson 4/51)
England: 620/5d (Pietersen 227, Cook 148)
Australia: 304 (Clarke 80, Watson 57; Swann 5/91)

England win by an INNINGS & 71 runs

1-0 to England, and if we win the next one in Perth on 16th December, we will retain the Ashes

The only downer is that Stuart Broad will miss the rest of the series through injury.

aussies dont even look half the team they were a few years ago - some rebuilding needs to go on I think

Perth:
Australia: 268 (Johnson 62, Hussey 62; Anderson 3/61)
England: 187 (Bell 53, Strauss 52; Johnson 6/38)
Australia: 309 (Hussey 116, Watson 95; Tremlett 5/87)
England: 123 (Harris 6/47, Johnson 3/44)

Australia win by 267 runs

Bad defeat, but we're English, we never win anything the easy way, 1-1 with two tests to go.

Latest news is that Finn may be rested for the next test
