thought it recognised your computer code?

It didn't for mine. Admitedly, mine is an older version (v. 8) which I got with a PC Magazine. Another way is to search for Fireworks Portable.

Just a couple of hints.

For better quality ensure you are:
- working in RGB mode
- saving in PNG with partial transparency on the edges

How do u upload lads?

You have to use an image uploading site such as imageshack or photobucket, then used the codes provided for the image tags

There is a couple that look like they've been taken from google, like the skull and cross bones and the flames, and a few others that have been cropped. Cropping is still classed as an infringement - doesn't have to be a full untouched image

Most images on google are copyright free as all copyrights are wavered by google :), BUT images which clearly state the (C) are still copyrighted :)

much love.

lmao. How'd you work that one out. Google Images are just a collection of images from millions of different sites. They are still the property of the original creators - thus subject to copyright laws.

http://www.google.com/support/websearch/bin/answer.py?&&answer=9299

And that is a misconception about images that don't contain (C) are not copyright. Any image or other type of file is the property of the original creator, so cannot be used, displayed or modified without prior concent from the owner - unless you use stock photography, which aren't copyrighted .

Nick could you clarify what would constitute as 'copyrighted'. More specifically were I to submit a design which is based on a real life cue (i.e. my cue as pictured in http://www.funkysnooker.com/thread/7499/premium-general-chat/10 ) would that infringe copyright?

Not that it would win anyway as it is most certainly not flashy enough for most people but I would like to know anyway

Yep, that's absolutely fine. So long as the graphic is created by you and acceptable for us to use on the site, it is eligible.

I knew the Copyright Law stuff I learned in my college Web Design course would come in handy someday
