Any chance, maybe 3 in a game, and one is allowed through? jsut a thought would be good though.

I briefly discussed this with nick the verdict being he would have to do alot of work with the server but maybe all the entries could be put into a single game.

the issue with this idea however is the time factor.

My idea if the server could work this way is there is a limit to the number of entries maybe 60.
Round 1:12 lots of 3
Round 2 4 lots of 4
Final: 1 game of 4

Byes could work as usual but the tourny would have to be in an accessable time of day eg not early morning because 60 would be an impossible figure for entries.

what about the other people in other countries who may want to play these tournaments???

Im in Australia, 10 hours in front of England...so to play these tournaments, I would have to stay up until 3am or so just to play in it??

yes, great idea...and you are right...but there would also have to be an alternitive system if it does not reach 60 players!

In my opinion, the best approach for a killer tourny would be to have two rounds: Group play and finals.

In short, set a cap of 100 players (normally never a problem - first come, first served).

First round:
As many games of 10 players as it takes (up to 10)

(dividing players as evenly on the necessary number of games as possible)

Second round (final):
The winners from round one.

I realize this would of course require a completely new implementation from scratch since it looks nothing like that of a normal binary tournament tree, but it would in my opinion be the best format if it ever were to be implemented.

Considering how popular the game is, I'm sure tournies would be a hit as well (if implemented in a sensible way)
