The order has now been placed for a new server. The server will be a dedicated machine which caters for funkypool only.

The server is dual processor with twin SCSI disks (in English this means very fast!). Basically it's about 4 times the ability than the current server!

Anyway, the transfer should happen within the next 7 days, so next week at some point there will be downtime as we transfer to the new server. We'll try and keep this to a minimum. I will update this thread with progress/info as it's available to me, and you'll probably understand that I'm too busy to handle many other issues during this period.

nb: funkysnooker should not have any downtime.

, will snooker get a new server?, it's not running slow or anything but, if a new swerver is operated over there then maybe more features?, also i look forward to playing on the new server it is faster i have no probs with this one so boy the new one will be sweet

funkypool and funkysnooker are running from the same server. When funkypool is removed from the server it will give funkysnooker plenty space to grow and to add improved features.

there shouldnt be any changes like that tread, just a little downtime while the software is copied from the old server to the new one. Everything should start-up where it left off!
