Oh there is interest, I assure you! We have 5 players remaining who are very interested; it's just that 2 of them are having problems being on at the same time. But there may be a mutual resolution in sight. Watch this space.

Right, I dunno want to exclude either player; nonetheless, discussions have taken place. Decision tomorrow in the off-chance that the fixture gets played. No more procrastination.

Right, after much huffing and puffing on my part, the decision has been made, and the next round of the competition will look like this:

Losers' Bracket Round 4
the_foxes vs berbatov_9

First to 2.

The short version of it is that after getting opinions from all concerned, this is how it will be. aflumpire gets my gratitude for his participation, and I hate to have to make a decision that denies someone their rightfully earned place in the competition.

the_foxes and aflumpire will be messaged to inform them of this fixture. The winner plays alexander.

Well done alexander, great performance, and proper revenge was got against me for defeating you in the Winners' Bracket.

Thanks to all who took part, and special kudos to the_foxes; I can't say I've ever come across anyone making as much effort to get games played. You're welcome to any of my tournaments I set up in future.

You'll notice that I did not disqualify aflumpire as such; it wasn't his fault that the timezones made things impossible for him but I couldn't let things continue. That particular fixture was something like 2 weeks waiting. In fact, only two players got disqualified. One got banned and the other played no games at all. All of the other ten players showed up and were counted. So another all-round successful competition in terms of participants' actual involvement. Thanks guys.

Note to self: As reliability is one of the entry conditions, and players (such as the one drawn against both me and __mnm__ in this tournament) did not play at all and held things up, I'll need to introduce a rule that will allow me to disqualify players who show clear signs of unreliability early on. king9ball1's no-shows held things up for everyone.

No, afraid not. A bit too complicated for most people, and a bit of a nightmare trying to explain it and to get people motivated for it with the large gaps between games at times. Also, there's way too many competitions on at present, as well as another clan season that's just got underway.
