Go on options in the game and see if your sound if enabled.
If it isnt just tick the box.

Yeah, the box was already ticked.

It's not just funkypool, it's any kind of game I try to play.

I had this problem on IE6 and FireFox 1.5 both running Java 1.5.0.6 (I think).

I changed to my old favourite Avant Browser http://dw.com.com/redir?edId=3&siteId=4&oId=3000-2356_4-10752699&ontId=2356_4&spi=e82632c6115ce253eb384961b6f1b48c&lop=link&tag=tdw_dltext&ltype=dl_dlnow&pid=10752699&mfgId=109407&merId=109407&destUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.download.com%2F3001-2356_4-10752699.html%3Fspi%3De82632c6115ce253eb384961b6f1b48c

That ran Java v 1.1.4 which is the oldest version you can run FP on. I changed because I remembered that Java games ran quite smoothly on my slow pc with Avant and that version of Java, and I was using laptop that was virtually impossible to play FP on because of the lag. Swapped to Avant and it gave me sound and smooth play.

Fixed sound and speed for me, hope it helps for you guys if you are interested in trying it. Pretty good browser ;)

Yeah, I have tried restarting the computer and it still doesnt work.

It's nothing to do with the browser because there is no sound when I am playing games (offline) and when I log on to the computer there is no log in sound.

Sounds (excuse the pun) like a soundcard driver or possibly directx problem.

Try going to start>run and typing dxdiag.

Run through the sound tests and see if theres a problem anywhere.

DirectSound test results: Failure at step 19 (User verification of software): HRESULT = 0x00000000 (error code)

Does that mean anything to you?

Almost certainly a driver problem.

Have you tried reinstalling your sondcard drivers?

Assuming you have windows XP..

Press the windows key+Break to bring up your system properties.

Click the hardware Tab, then the Device Manager button.

Look down the list for "Sound, video and game controllers", and click the + at the left to expand.

If any of these things has a warning sign on it (you will know it if you see it) thats your problem.

If not, right click each part in turn and select "uninstall".

When you're done, reboot the computer, and windows should find your soundcard and install the drivers.

If you encounter any problems, just post back

When I right click on them it doesn't say "uninstall" but it says "Update Driver..."

Thats the main one. (The others are virtual devices, dont worry about them)

Uninstall all those that have the option, then reboot. Windows should install the appropriate drivers. It may ask to connect to the internet, this is fine, let it go ahead.

My Disc thingy doesn't work, ya know where you put ya discs in. When I put a disc in the computer acts like theres no disc in there. One day it was working then one day when i put FM '07 in again it just didn't work. Am thinking of taking it to PC World to get it fixed. Suggestions?

Ok, I uninstalled it and re-booted the computer.

The installtion wizard came up and it searched for the software for "Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus"

It couldn't find the software and it said "connect to the internet to seach for the sofware online"

I clicked yes and it couldn't find any software online.

What should I do now? Please help? lol
