A seperate clan killer league? I love it.

I've always pushed for more accurate scoring in clan killer. A method that would recognize the difference between a team getting 1st, 3rd, and 4th, or 1st, 5th, and 6th.(just one of many possible examples)
Where every position would score differently, for example 4th place did better than 6th, shouldn't he earn more?

This was always an obstacle though (when killer was part of another league), too many points needed to do it and still keep in balance with other game types.

I suggest:
1st = 8-10, if you want 1st to guarantee a win, 7 if you want it to guarantee at least a draw (I'm not bothered either way, though I slightly prefer the draw, relying on teammates to bring the win in)
2nd = 3 points
3rd = 2 points
4th = 1 point
5th = 0
6th = -1
maximum possible score is 12 - 15
minimum possible score is 0, in the past people have complained about getting something for nothing, when the minimum was more than 0. (the reason for the -1)
I think these points should go straight to the league table (and every team play every other team of course).

and yeah if its not obvious by now, I think 3 vs 3 is best.
2 vs 2 is easier to set up, but I think 3 vs 3 has proven to be much more fun.

(moved this over from the end of the other thread, wanted to edit and it wouldn't let me)

To be honest I suspect if this grows legs then the format will evolve over time to one that works best.

Initially the important thing would be to see if the idea of prescribing a set suitable time, thereby taking inter-clan arrangements out of the equation, works. The other important thing is making this very much a team event so restricting it to 3 players out of 16 doesn't really fit that. Allowing up to 7 players per clan per game does make it much more of a team event. Trying to find a suitable scoring system, other than a straight win/loss system, would be difficult when you consider one match might be 7 v 7, another might be 7 v 3 and another might be 2 v 1 all depending on player availability at the time.

I expected such a response , don't know why I bother.
Good luck getting 14 players on at the same time! I doubt it'll happen very often, and what's the point if 2nd-14th won't be counted? I know, team game right?, but at what cost?, there won't be any accuracy.

What if I post opinions opposite of my own? Something tells me I might get more results?

I'm done making suggestions while chris is running things, doesn't do any good. I believe he'd shoot down a cure for cancer, if it came from me.

All I am doing is posting thoughts trying to come up with solutions.

Does a 3 player team make it representative of a 16 player clan?

I didn't say it has to be 7 I said up to 7.

Come up with a scoring system that for example treats a 2 v 1 game in a similar way to a 7 v 7 and I'm listening. Maybe points for the top 6 places in any game does work, I have not considered everything about it yet.

a game with unequal #'s should never happen, it isn't fair

Just throwing it in there how about points for the most kills too (serial killer)?

"Does a 3 player team make it representative of a 16 player clan?"

No, but if you try any bigger than that it becomes too difficult to get played.
I was thinking it could be like SL, in that a clan can enter more than one team if they choose

On the table it might not seem fair but you have to consider the arrangements and setting of a time for the game too.

Trying to find an analogy. If I have a team that is due to play your team in real life we would have a set time for kick-off that we all know in advance. If you turn up with 11 and I turn up with 8 then the game still goes ahead and that's just my bad luck/fault if I am disadvantaged.

I see your point, but if you set the # too high the competition won't award the best killer team. It'll award the team that has the most active players instead.
and only with equal numbers, can the scoring be truly accurate.

If we worked on the premise that I suspect (only suspect) most teams would want the option to have up to 7 players in each game, then thoughts need to be on securing a suitable scoring system for that and one that copes fairly with any number of players in a game from each side.

I dont think that's possible, to prevent an accurate scoring system from punishing a team with less players.

GSC - Score has been decided - do we have to play remaining fixtures? 2-10 - 2 to play - pointless.

I apologize in advance to Ash, because this is most likely to come off harsh. It happens occasionally, and

I find it puzzling when people ask questions to which they should be able find the answer out to. It is a query about the rules of the GSC, and I'm guessing that you didn't read them before asking here (and effectively all I'm doing is reading the rules out to you).

Grand Slam Cup Rules
4. Scoring System:
The first clan to achieve 9 points will proceed to the next Round of the competition. Once a clan has achieved 9 points then there is no requirement to complete any unplayed matches.

So to answer your question, no you don't have any requirement to play the final two games. Though there is nothing to stop the games being played should both players still wish to play their matches (I imagine most would play, unless there are issues arranging games or with prioritising other matches).

Again, I apologize if I cause offence. It's nothing personal, just brings about something that may need consideration in any future discussions about whether or not the rules are read.

Should captains read and agree with the rules that are set each season before their clan is accepted? Would be useful to allow captains to address any possible issues they have before it becomes an issue with games already being played

Thanks for posting what I've already seen but as on a few occasions this season rules have been manipulated or favoured depending on the opponent so that's why I asked.

All well and good being in black and white (on the website) but when others are bent throughout the course of the season, no harm in asking.

We wont play them and good luck to Uprising in the Final.

Seems to be a trend here today: I won't repeat myself any further, 'wasting time' - team wont be fussed either way - we have other matches to play.

Might utilize the players though hmm nice idea. See if you hadn't kept on that might not have been considered. Thanks.
