Yeah, I would vote for either of these 3 options here:

- Keep it as it is
- Remove one straight game, but keep it as important as the other games.
- Play 6 frames worth 1 point.

How about 4 games worth 2 points a piece... goes in line with the value of the other types yet gives way to a draw in straight. I could up straight to 10 frames with 1 point a win and still Seb/Dave/Pete/Niall/Marc amongst the other regularly played straight players would whitewash me with a 10 - 0 as I don't like and cannot play straight.

I suppose players get picked for straight due to their capability and increasing or decreasing straight or the value of it for that matter will make no difference to the overall outcome. I think increasing to 4 and allowing for a draw in straight which has not been possible until now seems the fairest option as we are taking away the definite winner.

Thoughts?

if u do it 4 frames that is going to be even worse and would have more weight than it has now

personally i like the third option, but if that isnt going to happen then im for the second option

I'm fine with the second option as well (removing one fixture of straight). It would solve both of our concerns I think.
The game would still carry the same weight as a game of 8US, but straight won't be as decisive as before, with only 1 game of it being played.

pixie- your suggestion of 4 frames of straight would be nice for me, but I don't think it will appeal to those that want to decrease the impact of straight.

should be 2 matches of st8 and then a decider only if its 1-1 if its 2-0 its demolirising to be beat 3-0 and dont think last game should be played don think a lot of players would want to be getting beat 3-0 and play another game of st8 st8s a longer game so should be less racks or it would take ages opposing a lot of people of wanting to play it

I like option two, one match of straight instead of the 2 in other types, let it play 4 games and get 8 points like the other types. There being only one match, it'll total 8 where the other types are getting 16(straight, with it's high number of whitewashes, won't have more say in a team fixture than the other types), and Seb's worry of wasting a straight player is over, he can get 8 points now like the other types.

well if u play 3 game and u win 2-1 thats a deciding game

come on cke, so it's demoralizing to lose 3-0 in straight, but it's not demoralizing to lose 6-0 in 8US lol??

if ur 2-0 down theres no point playing last game u should only play it if its 1-1

Why? The league goes all season. Points count towards the league.

I actually quite like the idea of 1 straight game worth 8 points, means it frees up a good player for the other types - unless you have signed a decent player, I think straight is the discipline hardest to get people to play.
