Halloween
Witches and werewolves, the occassional bat,
Pumpkins and vampires and a black cat
They're all pretty spooky I think you'll agree
But they're not what its all to do with for me.
I like to wait in the bushes, out of plain sight,
Dressed as a zombie, in the dead of the night.
Little kids come to my door, "Trick or Treat"
I leap out and shout, they jump out their feet!
Teach him to come begging, the little brat,
No sweets for him, he's already fat.
A bit harsh you might say, just think how he feels,
But its way more effective than "Jamie's School Meals"
No children were harmed in the making of this poem

Having been away to clear my head,
Girls troubles over pool instead,
I am now back and here to play,
Any time, any place, any way.
I won't bore you with the details,
As it is a very sad tale,
But I am back, and happier than ever,
I now abide by 'never say never'
So I am back on track,
to play a rack,
maybe 3, thats a fact.
This isn't an act,
and to be exact,
after being whacked,
and slightly smacked,
the main thing is, i'm still intact.

Just a few weeks ago I arrived on this thread,
Under no illusion from what I read,
So I wrote my first, and thought it would be the last,
To my surprise I took to writing so fast,
Seeing what everyone else had wrote,
Unaccustomed to this, but I took note,
More posts were added, but one caught my eye,
Great it was, and it was all about I,
Intellect and a fine way of writing,
Really finding these poems exciting,
Lets get more people, so lets get inviting!
Hope you enjoy your poem in return!

It won't be long now until the end of the year,
When snow falls in the day and the nights are clear.
That the moon and stars can clearly be seen,
And the leaves have all gone and there's no more green.
Children will rejoice as the schools all close,
And they give their snowmen a carrot for a nose.
Traffic for miles as the country stands still,
With animals hibernating away from the chill.
The days get shorter and the nights run long,
The radio constantly plays Christmas songs.
Turkey prices suddenly rocket and soar,
And charitable people give food to the poor.
Pensioners rock in their chairs by the fire,
Middle aged men wear dodgy Christmas attire.
Mistletoe hangs at the Christmas works do,
Children throw snowballs til their hands go blue.
Bacon butties in the morning on Christmas Day,
Drinking too much until you stumble and sway.
Opening presents with a huge fake smile,
Here cometh Christmas and its been a long while.

It has all gone quiet, no one speaks a word,
No matter how loud you sing, not a note is heard.
Be it a C sharp, or an E flat,
Nothing is heard, not even the cat.
Lighting the fire, to keep it warm,
Making little treats, so the girlfriend will swarm,
I like savoury, she likes sweet,
So when I buy her chocolate, she knows its a treat.

A rumour was flying around the mill,
Gathering pace, never staying still,
On Sunday it reached its peak,
Saying that snow would be here this week!
But alas, we are nearing the end,
And I am being driven around the bend,
I love the snow, but not a flake I saw,
Maybe these rumours will be no more

Was the night before Tuesday when I was due to play golf,
I heard the weather report, weather fit for Rudolph.
My golf day was ruined, oh dear, oh boy!
And then it appeared, a million white flakes of joy.
Wet fluffy and cold, the flakes covered the rocks,
Out the next morning came the overjoyed children in their flocks.
Snowball fights here and sled rides there,
The wet and the cold? The kids did not care.
When the snow cleared and the children went in,
The events that had unfolded had left me with a grin.
I may have missed my chance to golf that day,
But the happy memories of fun will stay.
The winter is upon us and soon our favourite time of year,
32 days away, yes we are that near.
You know what I am talking about so let's all raise a glass,
Let's have a happy, drunken, fun and memorable Christmas!

The time is soon near when the snow will fall,
And cover streets in a blanket of white.
Through the day it doesn't look like a downpour at all!
Until it flutters from the sky late at night.
In the morning I open the curtains with haste,
And see neighbors pushing cars up the street.
It seems my faith in the weather is surely misplaced!
As the snow crumples beneath my two feet.
Cold and silky, it muffles all sound,
Dogs jump through it with obvious glee.
Children throw snowballs for miles around,
But it's a big nuisance for me.
My hands are all red, and shaking so much,
I slip and slide down to the pub.
A pint of lager is suddenly too cold to touch,
Whilst the locals all stock up on grub.
I guess it all looks nice as it falls from the sky,
And the children love it for the best part of a day.
But say that when a snowball hits YOU in the eye,
It'd be sunshine if I had my way!

Sometimes in life we make mistakes
Causing hurt and pain to others.
We do things that can make hearts break
Whether its family or our lovers.
We might have had too much to drink,
Or say things in a rage.
Not taking time out to sit and think
Is something that comes with age.
It was my turn as the culprit,
And I acted like a fool.
I acted like a piece of sh*t
And I've never felt so cruel.
It was totally out of the blue
And I know that you're upset.
It was something I never normally do.
And I'm forever in you're debt.
Time is known as a healer,
Hopefully that line is true.
You'll never read this but it's how I feel
Just want to say that I love you.

Smiled.
This world sometimes makes me mad,
I read and go through things which really make me sad.
I've been through tough times and been through good,
But it always feels like I am being dragged through the mud.
Sometimes I wish things could change a bit,
I am sick and tired of being treated like....
I have been upset and angry for a long time now,
I am sick of my ex being a horrible spiteful cow!
She tries to make it hard for me to see my child,
And for that reason it's been months since I really truly smiled.

S - Son, my only reason for being here, the best thing ever!
M - My baby, you make me happy when I see you smile.
I - I am a better man for having brought you in to the world.
L - Life although much tougher is much more rewarding for seeing your face.
E - Every day I wake up smiling with the prospect of seeing you if only for 5 minutes.
Probably not the type of smile you were after but hey ho!
Blah I have had a few drinks I will try again another time when I can think straight.
