Something happened Christmas day , life to me will never be the same .
I had a call that changed my life , life as I knew it came to a holt .
All I hold are memory's now and a deluded thought that your still about .

You were so young and full of life , unfortunately that day you lost your fight .

Always in my heart , love you mate .

Love you my boy Jake 15/08/1994 - 25/08/2019

Fun & Games

Blankety-blank, Poem Thread, Grinding One's Gears,
Many different games have taken place throughout the years.
But there's a notable absence - one cold, empty seat,
That seems to have been reserved for a 'Mr Pitbull Pete'!

Rumour is he tried to enter, but admin held him back,
Worried that the pile of accusations may just stack.
'Pit said this', they'll all say, 'He's creating havoc in there',
'He stamped on my size 3 feet and also pulled my hair!'

'His poem was too dirty, it had such rude themes',
Some say if he got in here he'd be corrupting people's dreams!
So poor old Pete sits there, curled up outside the door,
Whilst inside 'Fun & Games' the laughter rolls and roars.

Some nights though he would sneak in, take a look around,
Tip-toeing round the forums, without making a sound.
'Why won't they just accept me?' Pete would ask himself,
'I've as much right to be in here as anybody else!'.

Sullenly he closed the door and went back to general chat,
But as he returned he realised, he'd left behind his hat!
'Oh Christ' he thought unto himself, 'They'll know that I've been there!'
'Crucified is what I'll be, I left it on that chair!'

And so it was the hat was found, and left upon that seat,
With a little reservation, for a Mr Pitbull Pete.
'Write a poem!' they implore; 'Choose the title, pick the name!
All we want, is to have you here, to post on Fun & Games!'

Newton's Law

One day young Isaac, on a fine summer's day,
Went for a stroll to blow the cobwebs away.
He'd drank too much on the previous night,
Kissed the wrong lady and got into a fight.
Pushed out from the ale house, and into the street,
He'd quickly thrown up and was sick on his feet!

In the early hours, he rose with the sun,
With a throat like sand and a very dry tongue.
Opened the windows to let in some air,
He slowly got dressed and took a comb to his hair.
Rinsing his mouth, he did up his tie,
Looked in the mirror and saw a bruised eye.

And so out in the open, he passed others by,
Pulling his hat down to cover the eye.
Into an orchard, where he could find solitude,
Perhaps take a long nap and clear up his mood.
The sky was so clear, except for one cloud,
His gaze then lost focus until he was snoring aloud.

Suddenly a thud, then another - one more!
A large bump on the head that instantly felt sore.
As he woke up young Isaac, rubbed his eyes clear,
'Good heavens, from where did these apples appear?'
He sat up quickly whilst under the shade
And looked under the tree where he'd just been laid.

'Where did these come from? They were once on the tree!
Suddenly all these apples lay around me.'
'What is the force, that causes them to fall?,
Not just a couple but eventually them all!'
It was at this moment, at the young age of 23,
That Sir Isaac Newton discovered gravity.

Step on up into a virtual world,
Just put in your thumbprint and give it a whirl.
Click on the app, they're no longer slow,
Watch it light up, and feel the glow.

You're now in a place where you can be someone new,
You can force your opinions and real people are few!
No repercussions, just say what you like,
Look at forbidden content, then hop on your bike.

Take a seat on the train, and have a look around,
Hundreds of people all with their heads down.
Humans evolving with hunched over backs,
Ready to 'comment' and launch a verbal attack.

Plug in your earphones, there's no need to chat,
If you do you'll seem weird and be told to step back.
Why have conversations when at the touch of a screen,
You can live in a world where everything's make-believe!

Go on, create a persona that's not really you,
Put filters on your face to try and make yourself 'cute'.
Post unrealistic garbage, pretend to be a saint
Make your life look amazing, even if it ain't.

People sit in restaurants, their kids on the phones,
People on the the internet, spending hours surfing alone.
People searching for love at the touch of an app,
People wasting hours just looking at crap.

Children committing suicide after being bullied by trolls,
Adults and celebrities online baring their souls.
Facebook, Twitter and Funkypool too,
All created in the aim of being addictive for you.

Ta'ra!

Steph! Pit! C'mon ya have to do some too

I'm sure you can tell,
It's really no surprise,
Yer woman's still yapping,
I swear she's not wise,
Poor steph and poor pit,
In Paula's line of fire,
Barking her orders,
For her whims and desires!
Yet it's been 13 days,
Not a sniff nor a scent,
She no longer takes part,
Musta made herself exempt!

Leeds

Leeds is the city, in which I entered this life,
Where I grew into a man, and discovered a wife.
A place where most of my memories are,
Though I love my home-city, I still travel afar.

A metropolitan place, modern but with grit,
You can use all the stereotypes as we don't give a sh!t.
It's the best place on earth, that I must tell you,
A city life if you want, or have the countryside too.

And let's not forget the sport here, Leeds are my team,
Yet to reach the premier league, where once we were seen.
But we're just about there, we've surely been missed,
Travelling round the country, singing chants and getting p!ssed.

Many love our accent, lots of 'How do?' and 'Alreyt?'
'Are ya making one in and skeggin the birds out tonight?'
'Aye I'll be there lad, let me check with her indoors',
'Av just finished graftin, today av fitted ten doors!'

We were a hardworking people, yeah we used to be rough,
But now we all work in offices, so maybe not as tough.
And it's not horse and cart here, a lot of money flows through,
If you've never really visited, that's a big shame for you!

No mucking around in Leeds, we really don't play,
There's a saying up here, and do you know what they say?
'We're Yorkshire born and we're Yorkshire Bred,
Strong in the arm and good in bed!'
